Twitter has launched the Topics feature in India. Through the Topics feature, Indian users will get updates and follow-ups about their interests and things they like. Simply put, with the help of the topics feature, you will be able to easily get updates about the topics in which you are interested.

Topics allow people to follow topics of interest. After following, the information about the related topics will be found more on the users’ timeline.

The special thing is that for Indian users, the Topics feature has been launched especially in Hindi. Please tell that Hindi is the most used language on Twitter in India.

Hindi is the seventh language to be included in the list of topics. Apart from Hindi, topics are also available in English, Japanese, Spanish, Portuguese, Arabic, and Korean languages.

Some of the selected Hindi topics in India include cities like Agra, Patna, and Pune, General Interests like Animals, Poetry, Horoscope, and Sports Teams, Technology, and individuals as well as entertainment topics include Movies (movies).

On the launch of Topics, Manish Maheshwari, Managing Director, Twitter India said, ‘India is an important market for Twitter.

“We want to make the value of our service more powerful by giving Indian users more control over how they view the information they want on their timelines. Topics will allow people to connect with the content of their choice and find like-minded people.”

How to better use Twitter topics

  • How to search the topics you want to follow
  • Open the Twitter app on your phone, click on the three-lined icon at the top left of the app
  • Tap on Topics
  • You will be able to see the list of suggested topics.
  • Tap on the ‘Follow’ button on what you find interesting
  • Click ‘More Topics’ at the end of the list to choose from a comprehensive list of topics and sub-topics.
